When it comes to awnings, most people think about installing awnings in the back of the home, over the deck or patio, but there are many types of awnings that are available to install in the front of the home, over the front door.

Awnings for the home that can be placed in the front of the home are often created from two materials: canvas or metal. Through these types of awnings, you can provide protection for those nights that you find yourself fumbling for the keys while being soaked by the rain or being bombarded with snow. This is a great way to make the front of the home more accessible, while creating interest within the front of the home.

There are two types of awnings that are available in the form of waterproof awnings for the front of the home. The first types of awnings are metal awnings in the form of steel or copper and the second types of awnings are canvas that has been treated with a sealant. Most customers tend to choose metal awnings for the awnings in the front of the home as they are able to create interest within the appearance of the home, while creating curb appeal.

Canvas awnings are typically used through patios and decks in the back of the home, as they are easily retracted, but metal awnings including copper and steel are the most popular choices for the front of the home.
